PROGRAMMER ANALYST

Our client is migrating a large service contract system and needs a P/A for integration testing and future enhancements. The core system was originally Cobol IMS, CICS, but has been bolted on with web front ends and DB2 databases. Four years ago they decided to migrate the entire system to J2EE Architecture due to the high maintenance cost. The project is finishing development and moving to testing. To acclimate the new hire they will begin by creating test plans and running integration testing. This phase will last up to 6 months. This person will need to work with users but they must be able to understand Cobol and M/F system Architecture and go to the old system to create test scripts. The documentation is pretty good. Of course errors/bugs will be discovered. This person may be asked to do the bug fix in the new system. Java, J2EE standard architecture, JSP’s etc. Many productivity tools available to developer. Rational and Compuware developer tool suite for Java. Contact Christian Koop at ext. 231 or e-mail koopc@kendalldavis.com Position H571

Our client needs a local contractor to work the project managers and to interface with stakeholders. You may be asked to write specs or go straight to code. Most of the enhancements will be older versions of RPG (2-3 and 4) but mostly in RPG4. Most of the Reporting is in RPG3. Projects revolve around various policies for various entities, including governments. Most applications between 600-800K lines of code RPG4 and DB2/400 on the back-end. TOGETHER CONTROL CENTER SME DEVELOPER

The MOD Group is looking for a subject matter expert (SME) with extensive knowledge of the Borland Together Architect/Control Center tool. We are creating Demonstration Module for several potential customers utilizing the modeling and forward engineering capabilities of Together Control Center. We need an expert in JAVA J2EE, preferably with experience deploying on a JBoss or Oracle App Server, who knows how to change an existing UML 2.0 model, take skeleton of code, add JAVA code, manipulate models, and generate the code from the Together tool. The Mod Group is a services company for systems modernization. Our approach uses a set of proprietary parsing tools and XMI extinctions to render an existing legacy applications source code (Cobol, Oracle Forms, SQL, etc.) to a specialized XMI file which is then used to generate the model of the system. We offer tremendous value proposition when customers need to pull out unique functionality from a complex legacy system for GAP analysis for a COTS implementation or a platform migration project. Our approach substantially reduces the risk and cost by harvesting 100% of the existing functionality from the Legacy code base. We are now extending the offering by expanding our Forward engineering capabilities. For more information about the benefits of our Transformation Engineering Service see our web site www.Themodgroup.com. This project begins May 8th and will last only 10 days; however, this may expand to an opportunity to join the Mod Group full time to extend our core competence and learn our entire Transformation Process. Please contact Jim Cherry, at ext. 215 or email cherryj@kendalldavis.com. Position H474.

The work itself is 80% coding and 20% test and document. The specs have already been completed. Oracle is the DB and you will be coding Java J2EE on the front and back end on a Linux platform. If you do not have WCS, you will shadow the existing developers there learning as you go. This is a six-month assignment as they ramp up with other direct hires.
